MCB is proud to announce the addition of Mike Herd to the Staff. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to MCB and will have an instant impact on the players that MCB trains.
Mike's playing career started back when he was just 14 years of age. That is when he first put on the uniform of the Green Isle Irish in 1974. Mike is currently the manager of the Irish. Mike's collegiate playing career started in 1978 at Minnesota State University. He played four years under legendary, Hall of Fame coach Dean Bowyer. Mike has taken what he learned from coach Bowyer and used it over the years to train youth players in and out of his own community. Mike has coached numerous youth baseball teams while playing for the Irish and also raised two sons who currently play for the Irish program too. Mike's proudest moment came when he was inducted in 2009 into the Irish Hall of Fame. His son Zach, who currently plays for the Bethany College baseball team, presented the trophy to Mike while many years of fellow players looked on. Mike and his two sons live in Gaylord along with Mike's wife Kris.
MCB feels with the addition of Mike to the staff that all who deal with him will learn the passion it takes to succeed in the game.
